Tau pathology is a common feature to many neurological disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease and myotonic dystrophy, altogether merged as Tauopathies. Our laboratory has focussed its primary goals for deciphering etiopathogenesis in these disorders by using human biological samples analyses and developing experimental models. Our project will aim to study Tau biology to understand pathology by analyzing: 1) Regulation of MAPT (tau gene) from an epigenetics, transcriptional and post-transcriptional aspects; 2) Posttranslational modifications of tau, changes in Tau function and pathological consequences; 3) Gene and environmental factors modulating Tau pathology (posttranslational modifications, aggregation and spreading...). Altogether, these analyses will have some consequences on diagnosis and therapeutics..
